Lynn Cartwright
Biography
Lynn Cartwright was an American character actress whose screen career ran from 1957 to 1992. Born in McAlester, Oklahoma, she trained in drama at Stephens College and the American Academy in New York. Her early film work included small parts in Black Patch (1957), The Cry Baby Killer (1958), and The Wasp Woman (1959), and she later appeared in All the Loving Couples (1969), Son of Hitler (1978), and Lovelines (1984). She was associated with the Group Repertory Theater in Los Angeles for 15 years. Cartwright became known for playing the older Dottie Hinson in A League of Their Own (1992), the character played as a young woman by Geena Davis. She was cast in the role partly because she looked much like Davis and partly because their mannerisms were alike.
