Plot summary
Lina Inverse and Naga the Serpent, traveling companions and self-styled rivals, reunite when Naga is hired against Lina, and the two sorceresses buy discounted tickets for a tour of Mipross Island's fabled hot springs. The springs are fake and bandits control the island. An insistent old man visits Lina in her sleep and tells her about a heroic boy named Rowdy and a young elf girl, Meliroon, and about the demon Joyrock who destroyed the elven city. The king and queen of Mipross ask Lina to deal with Joyrock, who has returned to the island's north and blocked the flow of the hot spring water, and the old sage promises a hidden spring in return.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- ADV Films asked Lisa Ortiz, the English voice of Lina Inverse in the Slayers TV series, to reprise the role for the film, but she had to turn it down over scheduling conflicts. A last-minute casting call gave Cynthia Martinez her acting debut as Lina.
- To avoid disturbing the continuity of the ongoing TV series, writer/director Kazuo Yamazaki chose a story from the Slayers Special spinoff continuity, set two years before Lina Inverse first met Gourry, as Helen McCarthy wrote.
