Plot summary
A shootout at a house leaves District Attorney Joshua Gregory dead, and Abe Guevara, who was there, is chased on foot. He tries to get away with his brother Mateo, is struck by a car and ends up in a hospital. Two detectives, Regina Lewis and Eric Masterson, take the case. Paul Booker, a nurse in the emergency room, is looking after Abe there. Mateo owes money to a gangster called Big D and needs Abe out of the hospital to settle the debt, so he seizes Paul's pregnant wife, Taryn, and tells Paul that getting Abe free is the only way to get her back. Paul pushes Abe out of the hospital on his stretcher, and the two men slip past the detectives.
