Plot summary
Sarah Francis is a young woman whose life is already chaotic. She has just moved into a new apartment, which has a no-pet policy, and she has just been employed to teach Year 11 English. Her grandmother's will leaves her the grandmother's prized possession, a spoiled pug named Patrick. She has to handle both the pug and discipline in her school, and a few incidents with Patrick follow. Patrick also brings her into contact with two potential love interests: Oliver, a vet, and Ben, a student's father.
