Plot summary
Lemuel Gulliver has spent ten years sorting mail at a New York newspaper, and his colleagues write him off as a loser. He is close to Darcy Silverman, the paper's travel editor, and when he finally tries to tell her how he feels, he loses his nerve and claims instead that he wants to write a column. Darcy, impressed by the report he turns in, sends him to the Bermuda Triangle to cover the ships that vanish there. A storm overturns the ship he rents, and he comes to on Lilliput, an island of tiny people whose society echoes Victorian Europe. Taken for a dangerous beast because of his size, he is locked in a large cave, where he meets a fellow prisoner, Horatio, jailed by General Edward for loving Princess Mary.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Gulliver's Travels (2010)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Emily Blunt was originally cast as Black Widow in Iron Man 2 but had to drop out because of her commitment to this film. She later told Howard Stern she was forced to appear by contractual obligation, a two-picture deal with 20th Century Fox from The Devil Wears Prada.
- Emily Blunt has continued to distance herself from the film, at one point cutting off a conversation about it while promoting The Fall Guy after Ryan Gosling brought it up.
- Cote Zellers created Prometheus and Bob for Nickelodeon's KaBlam!; a film based on the segment was announced in 1998 but ultimately canceled, and in 2019 he said a lot of those ideas "showed up in that really horrible Jack Black Gulliver's Travels movie".
- Filming of the Lilliput royal palace was at Blenheim Palace, and miniature 1:12 scale dolls' house furniture and accessories from the Derbyshire firm The Dolls House Emporium were used to bring the movie alive with less need for special effects.
- Jonathan Swift, whose 1726 novel the film is loosely based on, is not credited anywhere in the film despite its title cards acknowledging the movie is not an original work.
