Plot summary
Jessica Olson, a teenager in Kalamazoo, has little patience for her older sister Sara's devotion to teen pop idol Christopher Wilde, so she goes along reluctantly when the family visits their grandmother in Hollywood. Sara drags her out to track Christopher down. A movie role is in reach, but his reputation for scuffling with paparazzi works against him, and he promises to stay out of the tabloids to prove he is serious. Sara talks Jessica into crashing a birthday party for his girlfriend, the model Alexis, where he is scheduled to perform. Christopher slips in and out to avoid being seen, and the exit door hits Jessica. He takes her to a hospital, then to his Beverly Hills mansion. When paparazzi follow him, Jessica lets him stay the night in her grandmother's garage.
