Plot summary
Jeffrey Wyatt, a widower, raises identical triplet teenage daughters named Lisa, Jessie and Megan. He collects them at the airport without revealing that he has become engaged to Cassie McGuire over the summer. Cassie wants to redesign the family's California beach house, so she brings in house designer Susan Evers. Jeffrey initially dislikes Susan's ideas, but he allows the project because of Cassie. Lisa is dating David, yet she has invited Hawk, a boy she met in Paris, to dinner. She finds Hawk more unpredictable and cannot decide how to tell David. She asks Jessie to stand in for her on a date with David so that Lisa can go out with Hawk while Jeffrey goes on a date with Cassie.

- Hayley Mills had expressed no interest in returning for more Parent Trap sequels, but after Good Morning, Miss Bliss ended, production on Parent Trap III began and Mills came back to reprise her dual roles. Mollie Miller, who began that production, would also direct the final sequel, Parent Trap: Hawaiian Honeymoon.
