Plot summary
In Los Angeles, twelve-year-old twins Tess and Emily share a goal: finding a girlfriend for their widower father, Max, an artist and sculptor. Emily surfs, Tess dives, and the two keep proposing women to him without success. With their friend Cody, the girls paint an advertisement for Max on a large billboard over Sunset Boulevard, and many women write back. Max answers one from Debbie, who brings her friend Brooke along as a backup for their date. Brooke and Max meet and take to each other, and Debbie steps aside so the two can date. Tess and Emily, meanwhile, clash with Ryan, Brooke's skateboarding son.
