Plot summary
Alfalfa is the boy chosen to drive The Blur, the go-kart that belongs to the He-Man Womun Haters Club, in the yearly soap box derby. The club is a boys-only group led by his best friend, Spanky McFarland, and its members are school-aged kids from the neighborhood. Alfalfa does not appear when the driver is announced. The boys find him in Darla's company. Alfalfa loves her, and that puts the club's boys-only rule in danger. The members set out to break the two apart.

- Bill Thomas Jr., son of the original Buckwheat, was invited to the set but came away feeling the filmmakers wanted no surviving Our Gang cast members involved, a snub made worse because director Penelope Spheeris had cast the original Beverly Hillbillies' Buddy Ebsen in her 1993 adaptation of that show.
- Eugene Jackson, who played Pineapple in the silent Our Gang comedies, tried unsuccessfully to reach the studio to take part in the 1994 film, saying, "It's real cold. They have no respect for the old-timers."
