Plot summary
Dawn has recently lost her husband. Her daughter Melanie is a high school student who plans to leave for college. As that departure approaches, Dawn's anxiety grows. A new neighbor is hostile, and an argument with this neighbor aggravates Dawn's mental condition. She begins to exhibit signs of paranoid delusions, believing that she is being persecuted. Melanie is determined to help her mother.
