Plot summary
In 1885, the Métis leader Dan Duroc and the whiskey runner Jacques Corbeau bring Louis Riel back from exile in the Montana Territory to lead a rebellion against the Canadian government. Métis and Native peoples want a nation of their own. Texas Ranger Dusty Rivers arrives at Fort Carlton in Saskatchewan with a U.S. warrant for the arrest of Corbeau. He is drawn to April Logan, a nurse, and finds a rival in Sergeant Jim Brett of the Mounties. April's brother Ronnie, a Mountie, loves Louvette, Corbeau's fur-trapper daughter, and she loves him in return although their sides are opposed. Dusty joins the Mounties in putting down the rebellion.
