Plot summary

Ted Hayden and his friend Dusty Rhodes come across Gatt Ganns, a dying outlaw. On the man they find a letter of introduction to a rancher named Gentry, and the letter points to Gentry in the murder of Ted's father and in the disappearance of Ted's younger brother, Jim, years before. Ganns was a wanted man, so Ted takes on the dead outlaw's identity. He presents himself to Gentry as the man the letter describes, pretending to take work with the rancher while he looks for evidence of what became of his father and his brother. Gentry's men include Hank and Joe.
