Plot summary
The eccentric Bullock household is once again short of a butler. Irene Bullock, one of the family's daughters, comes across a bedraggled man named Godfrey at the docks and takes him for homeless. Struck by his good manners, she brings him home and gives him the job as the family's butler. Her father, Alexander Bullock, is not pleased, and his displeasure grows as Irene's fondness for the new servant deepens. Godfrey proves a great success in the house, though he says nothing about his past.
