Plot summary
Nightmares of Midnight Sparkle follow Twilight Sparkle, a transfer student at Canterlot High, to Camp Everfree, the nature camp where her class spends a trip under the care of Gloriosa Daisy and her brother Timber Spruce. Midnight is an evil version of Twilight that Equestrian magic created when it corrupted her, and her friend Sunset Shimmer, who once went through a similar change, tries to help. Soon after arriving, Twilight finds she can move things with her mind and worries that Midnight has not left her. Around a campfire, Timber tells a story about Gaea Everfree, a forest spirit angry at the camp's construction. A sailboat smashes into a dock the campers are building, and glittering gem dust said to mark Gaea's presence is found.
