Meltdown: Days of Destruction (2006) on Netflix

Plot summary

Nathan's warnings are ignored, and his employer goes ahead with exploding an asteroid as publicity for the company's satellites. A warhead breaks the rock into three pieces minutes before impact; the largest, the size of Iceland, skims the planet, and Earth's orbit shifts nearer the sun. Temperatures are expected to climb for days. Nathan alerts his sister Carly, a television journalist, who tells her lover Tom, a police detective. Nathan has seats on a flight to a remote Arctic weather station run by a friend, and Tom brings his unruly daughter Kimberly, her ex-con lover C.J. and Kimberly's mother, the nurse Bonnie.
