Trailer

Plot summary

New Rome is a future version of New York where wealthy patrician families rule and everyone else lives in poverty. Cesar Catilina is one of the city's leading men: an architect who invented Megalon, a building material, and who can halt time, a power he keeps hidden. Years ago his wife disappeared; Franklyn Cicero, then district attorney, prosecuted him for her murder, and though Cesar was acquitted, he now drinks heavily. Cesar and Cicero, now the mayor, present rival ideas for the city on television. Cesar wants to build a utopian community, Megalopolis, from Megalon, while Cicero argues for a casino that would bring in tax revenue at once. Cesar also meets Julia, the mayor's daughter.
