Plot summary
In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Max Rockatansky drives a camel-drawn carriage across the desert. The pilot Jedediah and his son rob him of the vehicle and the animals, so Max follows their trail to Bartertown, a settlement where people come to trade. Turned away at the gate for having nothing to offer, he impresses the local officials, and the town's ruler, Aunty Entity, offers him supplies. Bartertown's electricity comes from Underworld, a methane works fed by pig waste and overseen by Master, a dwarf carried about by Blaster, his enormous bodyguard. Master's growing defiance threatens Aunty, and she asks Max to kill Blaster. Max goes down into Underworld, where he meets Pig Killer, imprisoned there for having killed a pig so his children could eat.
