Plot summary
Vic, a mob boss, is shut away in a psychiatric facility and due to be released. His top enforcer, Mickey Holliday, has been keeping company with Rita Everly and with Grace Everly, her sister, and Grace was Vic's girl before. While the boss is away, Ben London has had charge of Vic's nightclub. Their world is a mysterious underworld of swanky nightclubs, where criminals go armed, Rat Pack music plays, and shootouts are held from behind desks, from a seated position. Jake Parker brings in hired guns to take the organization for himself, and he is not the only rival who sees the boss's absence as an opening.
