Paul Anka
Biography
Paul Anka, a singer, songwriter, and actor from Canada who also holds American citizenship, rose to fame as a teenage pop star when Diana reached number one in Canada and the United States. Born in Ottawa, he had piano and choir training and recorded his first single at 14, then traveled to New York for an audition. He later wrote the English lyrics for Frank Sinatra's My Way and created the theme for Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. His movie work includes Girls Town (1959) and The Longest Day (1962), for which he wrote the title song and played a soldier. Anka also appeared as a yacht broker in Captain Ron (1992) and as a casino manager in 3000 Miles to Graceland (2001). Rock Swings brought him a comeback and a star on Canada's Walk of Fame, and he became an Officer of the Order of Canada.

Beyond film
Anka sang "Ogni volta" at the Sanremo Music Festival 1964, and the song went on to sell over one million copies in Italy alone, also earning a gold disc.
