Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life (2011) on Netflix

Plot summary

The wooden box reaches Jeremy Fink in the mail a month before his thirteenth birthday, inscribed with the instruction that he open it on that day. Four locks hold the box shut, and all the keys are gone. Jeremy and his best friend Lizzy Muldoun set out to find them, using their imaginations as they work through what the box and its clues offer. The search takes them across Manhattan, through flea markets, corporate office buildings and science museums, and the people they meet along the way each add another piece that brings them closer to what the box holds.
