Plot summary
For most of the year in this near future, alcohol and drugs are illegal. The law allows a single exception: an annual occasion known as the Binge, when people may drink and take drugs freely. That day has been moved to Christmas Eve, which puts the one permitted celebration of the year into the middle of the holiday. Hags and Andrew and three friends they have known since childhood are adults now, and the day arrives as they are working out what that means for them.
