Plot summary
Jacqueline Susann is an unsuccessful over-the-top actress who is hungry for fame. Her career is failing when she meets Irving Mansfield, a press agent and successful promoter, and he becomes her husband. He tries to place her in commercials and on a television quiz show, but those attempts come to nothing. He then hits upon the idea that she should become a writer.
