Plot summary
Manny the woolly mammoth, Sid the sloth and Diego the saber-toothed tiger share a valley ringed by a tall ice wall, along with many other mammals. The three friends learn the wall is really a dam holding back a reservoir that could drown everything below. A vulture called The Lone Gunslinger tells them a boat waits at the other end of the valley and that they have three days to reach it. When a chunk of ice splits off the dam, the animals start moving at once. Manny carries a private worry. No other mammoth has been seen for a long time, and he may be the last of his kind. On the road the group meets Ellie, a mammoth raised by opossums who takes herself for one, and her adoptive brothers Crash and Eddie.
