Chris Wedge
Biography
Chris Wedge is an American animator and filmmaker who co-founded Blue Sky Studios and does voice work. Born in Binghamton, New York, he earned a film degree from the State University of New York at Purchase and a master's in computer graphics and art education from the Ohio State University. In 1982 he was a principal animator on Tron, credited as a scene programmer, and he also worked on The Brave Little Toaster. His short Bunny won an Academy Award, and he directed Ice Age (2002), which earned a nomination for Best Animated Feature. He executive produced its sequels and created and voiced Scrat. He went on to direct Robots (2005) and Epic (2013), and later the live-action Monster Trucks (2016). He also voiced Scrat in Ice Age: Scrat Tales (2022). In 2023 he joined Annapurna Animation to direct FOO.
