Plot summary
In a nice home in suburban New York, Laney Brooks raises two children, Eli and Janey, with her husband Bruce, who plays with them outside. She makes their lunches and drives them to school, where a traffic guard blocks her from double-parking and she is kept out for not having her ID. She says hello to her friend Susan, then has sex with Donny, Susan's husband, at a hotel, and showers while he sleeps. Money from his wallet pays for more drugs. At dinner she drinks vodka and answers Eli angrily.
