Plot summary
Patrizia Reggiani works as the office manager at her father's small trucking company. She meets Maurizio Gucci, a law student whose father Rodolfo holds half of the Gucci fashion house. She pursues the awkward Maurizio, and Rodolfo warns his son that she is interested only in the family's money, threatening to disinherit him if he marries her. Maurizio chooses Patrizia and leaves the family, taking a job at the trucking firm. When she becomes pregnant, she lets the news reach Maurizio's uncle Aldo, who is delighted and brings the couple into his circle. Aldo introduces her to his son Paolo, who wants to design for Gucci. Aldo also helps Maurizio reconcile with his terminally ill father, who puts him back in his will.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about House of Gucci (2021)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Lady Gaga stayed in character as Patrizia Reggiani for 18 months and spoke with the accent for nine of them. She also improvised much of her dialogue, including the line "Father, son and House of Gucci" that went viral when the first trailer appeared.
- The St. Moritz scenes were not filmed in Switzerland at all: the Italian Alpine towns of Gressoney-Saint-Jean and Gressoney-La-Trinite in the Aosta Valley stood in for the Swiss resort.
- The Gucci family condemned the film through Patrizia Gucci, Paolo Gucci's daughter, who told the Associated Press they were truly disappointed and accused the production of stealing a family's identity to make a profit for the Hollywood system.
- The producers deliberately kept Lady Gaga away from the real Patrizia Reggiani, saying they did not want to endorse or support her crime. Gaga prepared instead from footage, documentaries and books about her life.
