Plot summary
Donovan Chalmers is a tech CEO whose work is valuable enough that he keeps mercenaries on hand to protect it. His daughter Eva does not want that work turned to military use. She goes to an extremist known as the Pardoner, who says he will help her use the technology to save the world instead. When the Pardoner lays out terrorist plans, Eva refuses to go along with them, and he seizes her as a hostage. From there he pressures Donovan to hand over the code that activates the technology. Donovan turns to a mercenary team under Derek Miller and sends it to bring Eva back and to secure the technology itself.
