Big break
Years & Years formed in 2010, once Mikey Goldsworthy had moved to London from Australia. Alexander became the band's lead vocalist later, because Goldsworthy liked the voice he heard him using in the shower.
Early training
At 16, while trying for a role in the British TV series Skins, Alexander got himself an agent. He left the Hereford College of Arts to follow acting, since parts came his way.
A first
On 7 May 2024, Alexander sang "Dizzy" at the first Eurovision semi-final. That made the UK the first pre-qualifying country ever to take part in a semi-final.
A first
Alexander set a Guinness World Record by catching 27 objects in one minute while spinning on a chair. His Eurovision entry "Dizzy" served as the inspiration for the attempt.
Behind the camera
Alexander co-wrote the independent film Funny Bunny with its other two leads and played Titty, a troubled teenager, in the film directed by Alison Bagnall.
Behind the camera
For the independent film The Dish & the Spoon, which came out in early 2011, Alexander helped write the script and worked on the music.
