Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Gomorrah (2008)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Oreste Spagnuolo, a member of the Casalesi clan and the main perpetrator of the Castel Volturno massacre, alleged that director Matteo Garrone paid a pizzo of 20,000 euros to get the film made, and insinuated that the actor Terracciano was cast as part of the deal.
- In November 2022 a Tumblr post about knockoff boots whose tag misspelled the film as "Goncharov" and Garrone as "Matteo JWHJ0715" went viral, spawning a fandom that invented a plot, fan art and thematic analysis for the non-existent film.
- The truck-stop scene where the tailor Pasquale sees Scarlett Johansson on TV wearing one of his dresses was based on a passage of the book about Angelina Jolie wearing a counterfeit dress to the Oscars; unable to get that footage from the Academy, Garrone used footage of Johansson at the Venice Film Festival in 2006 instead.
