Plot summary
Adriano Costantini takes a place in the Celerini, Rome's riot control unit, for the pay that supports his mother. The squad works stadiums, demonstrations and evictions. Adriano and his mother share a small apartment that is about to be lost, and the public housing assigned to them is occupied by squatters. Adriano turns to force even when a situation does not call for it, and his anger over his mother's situation feeds that. Mazinga leads the squad and has a teenage son who has fallen in with neo-fascists and finds his father's work shameful. Negro is in the middle of a divorce and is refused visits with his daughter. Cobra, the most committed, shelters his colleagues whatever they have done and is on trial for beating a football supporter.
