Plot summary
Arthur and Martha Goode live a quiet retired life in suburbia, tending their garden and seeing friends, until the pensions crisis takes away the money they were counting on. Unwilling to accept the loss, or to fade quietly through their remaining years, the couple decide to reclaim it. Their method is bank robbery. Masks cover their faces and canvas shopping trolleys carry the money, and they work through countryside branches within easy reach of the National Trust properties they tour in their caravan. News reports of the robberies assume a young crew of professionals is responsible. Their friends come from a bingo and bowls club that is itself failing.
