Veteran NYPD detectives Jimmy Monroe and Paul Hodges are suspended without pay after a robbery intervention turns into a shootout. Jimmy cannot cover the cost of his daughter Ava's wedding, and he refuses an offer from Ava's wealthy stepfather Roy, who wants to give the bride away in return for paying. Jimmy's solution is to sell his rare 1952 baseball card. A pawn shop robbery takes it. When Jimmy and Paul catch a burglar, they learn the card now belongs to Poh Boy, a drug dealer who collects sports memorabilia.
