Plot summary
Circus Stromowski is a travelling Russian big top run by ringmaster Igor Stromowski, its tired animal acts made to perform under narcotics. Roy Arnie, a stable-hand there, dreams of a circus of his own. He invites three old friends, Gaz, Odd and Flea, to work as animal handlers; the three owe him money and are hiding from a gangster named Ivan. The star attraction is Jimmy, a large male elephant who has lost half a tusk, fears the police and is addicted to drugs, kept energetic for shows with speed and sedated at night with heroin. Militant vegan activists want Jimmy freed from his abuse, and three Lappish mafia motorcyclists in traditional Sámi dress are on Roy Arnie's trail.
