Plot summary
Reodor Felgen repairs bicycles in the village of Flåklypa, where he shares a workshop with two animals. Solan Gundersen is a magpie of cheerful temper, and Ludvig is a hedgehog who fears the worst. Word reaches the three that Rudolf Blodstrupmoen, a former helper of Reodor's, now stands at the top of Formula Seven racing, driving with an engine design that Reodor made. Solan obtains backing from Ben Redic Fy Fazan, an oil sheik who is in Flåklypa on holiday, and the friends begin work on their own entry, a huge racing car called Il Tempo Gigante, and prepare to take part in the race.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix (1975)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Before the film, Ivo Caprino and Kjell Aukrust spent 1969 on a 25-to-30-minute pilot, Flåklypa Radio Norway, for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation; the NRK was unsatisfied and ceased production, and only 7-8 minutes, some repurposed for the film, have ever been seen.
- The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix is the most widely seen Norwegian film of all time, having sold roughly 5 million tickets in a country whose population today is just over 5 million.
- The film inspired a young Christian von Koenigsegg to create the Koenigsegg CC, the first car in his line of Koenigsegg supercars.
- After its success, the film became a Norwegian television ritual: NRK1, and later TV 2 Direkte, have shown it every year on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, a tradition still running today.
- The fictional village of Flåklypa comes from Lom Municipality, where author Kjell Aukrust had roots; its mountain is a stylized version of a real one above a valley also named Flåklypa.
- The Norwegian hip-hop duo Multicyde built their 1999 single "Not for the Dough" on a sample from the film's soundtrack and used excerpts from the film in the song's music video.
