Plot summary
In 1983, on the Monongahela River, Tony Oliverio studies business at a community college because his family expects him to run their grocery store, though his heart and talent lie in art. Two evenings before Christmas his friend Angelo takes him out to the bars, where he meets Beth, an affluent Protestant student whose boyfriend Prentice chose a skiing holiday over her. The two get along at once, until word arrives that Katie, Tony's former girlfriend, is set to perform at a strip club.
