Plot summary
A blackout cuts off the Griffins' television, leaving the family with nothing to watch. Peter retells Star Wars from Part IV, with the household's characters recast in the roles. A Rebel ship is seized by a Star Destroyer. Princess Leia tries to reach Obi-Wan Kenobi through R2-D2, and when the attempt goes wrong R2-D2 offers to carry the message himself. Leia is taken prisoner by Darth Vader; R2-D2 and C-3PO escape by pod to Tatooine, where Jawa traders sell them to a family of moisture farmers whose nephew, Luke Skywalker, longs to fight the Empire.

- Lucasfilm allowed Family Guy to parody Star Wars on one condition: the characters had to look exactly as they do in the films. Creator Seth MacFarlane said parodies of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan were considered first, but he assumed Paramount would refuse permission.
