Plot summary
Dr. Parker, a dermatologist, tells her patient Murray that she and her friend Selima would pay for a man to join them in a threesome. Murray's used bookstore has gone under, so he turns to Fioravante, a friend and former employee who also needs money, and proposes that they go into male prostitution, with Murray as the pimp. Murray shares a home with Othella and her children, and when one of the boys gets head lice, Murray brings him to Avigal, the widow of a Hasidic rabbi. Murray describes Fioravante to her as a healer who can help. Dovi works for Shomrim, the neighborhood patrol in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and is in love with Avigal.
