Plot summary
Near a small town stands a rock formation called Witch Mountain, said to have mysterious powers. A waitress, Zoe Moon, sees infant twins appear behind her diner in a pillar of purple light. A hermit, Bruno, finds the babies in his truck bed and moves Anna into another truck. Sheriff Bronson stops him as he carries Danny, and the truck holding Anna drives away, separating the pair. Danny spends nine years moving between foster families. After he runs away again, his social worker leaves him at an orphanage run by Lindsay Brown, where Anna lives.
