Plot summary

Thomas McKenzie built his cover as Martin Parker in London after years undercover inside the arms syndicate of Charles Cooper, whose daughter he married. She died in a car bomb, and Cooper wants him dead for revenge and wants Carly, his granddaughter, in his custody. One night, burglars hunting cocaine break into the wrong address; the fight that follows leaves them dead and puts Thomas on the news, charged with murder once he wakes in a hospital bed. Carly is taken into the care of child services. Cooper sends a hitman, while Ray Monroe, an old friend in the United States, books a flight to help.
