Plot summary
Lilly O'Connor has epilepsy and lives a safe, routine life in a seaside town in the north of England. She had believed her brother Mikey to be dead, and then learns he may be alive. She leaves that routine behind and travels to London to find him. Her epilepsy colors her perceptions, and the hallucinations it brings on follow her there. Everyday objects and places take on the appearance of obstacles and dangers.
