Agyness Deyn
Biography
Agyness Deyn is an English model and actress who was born Laura Michelle Hollins in Littleborough, Greater Manchester, in 1983 and grew up in the Rossendale Valley. She got into modeling after being spotted in London with the designer Henry Holland, signed with SELECT Model Management, and by 2007 was on the cover of American Vogue. Vogue Paris placed her among the 30 leading models of the 2000s, and she walked for Chanel, Dior and Burberry before retiring from the runway in the 2010s to act. She played Aphrodite in Clash of the Titans (2010), starred in Pusher (2012), Electricity (2014) and Sunset Song (2015), and appeared in Patient Zero (2018), The Titan (2018) and Her Smell (2019). On stage she took a West End role in The Leisure Society, and in 2017 she began filming the BBC crime drama Hard Sun.

First role
In 1999, at 16, Deyn won the Rossendale Free Press "Face of '99" competition. Her first modeling job was for Sunday Best, a boutique in Rawtenstall.
Big break
According to her biography, Deyn was "spotted" while shopping in Kentish Town, London, with fashion designer Henry Holland. She then signed with SELECT Model Management.
Beyond film
Deyn sings on the Five O'Clock Heroes single "Who" and also features in the video. NME gave the single a 2/10, and it charted at No. 109 in the UK.
First role
Deyn made her West End stage debut on 28 February 2012 as Paula in François Archambault's comedy The Leisure Society, and excellent reviews led to her being cast as Chris Guthrie in the film adaptation of Sunset Song.
Behind the camera
Deyn started working with Dr. Martens on a design partnership in 2012. Called Agyness Deyn for Dr. Martens, it included accessories, shoes and clothing, and she planned a third collaboration with the brand for spring 2014.
