Plot summary
With no warning, the moon disappears in a white hot flash of light. A second flash follows, and nobody on Earth remembers anything after it. The planet is dragged through a wormhole into another solar system. Almost a year later, Colin Prite, who heads the energy company Prite Industries, comes to in a makeshift hospital. Flashing images of possible memories leave him confused, and he wants to find his wife and child. Conditions in the new system have killed most of the population, and civilization is collapsing.
