The mercenary Curry takes a job from Congolese President Ubi: bring European residents out of an isolated mining town that rebel Simbas are about to attack. The real purpose of the mission is $50 million in uncut diamonds sitting in the mine company's vault. Curry's group includes his friend Ruffo and the alcoholic Doctor Wreid, and he recruits the ex-Nazi Henlein for his military expertise. Ubi supplies a steam train and government soldiers. Because the mission breaks United Nations accords, a peacekeeping plane attacks and damages the train. At a burned-out farmhouse the group picks up Claire, a woman left traumatized.
