Plot summary
Coppertown's copper mines are worked by Southern veterans, and a deputy, Lane Travis, leads local men who make trouble for them. The miners look for outside help and settle on Johnny Carter, a stage sharpshooter they take for the legendary Colonel Desmond. His show brings him to Coppertown, and he courts Lisa Roselle, a gambler the miners hold responsible for their troubles.
