Peggy Knudsen

Peggy Knudsen was an American character actress who began on Broadway in My Sister Eileen in 1940, taking over a role after the producer spotted her at a stage door canteen; it was her only New York stage credit. Born in Duluth, Minnesota, she started in films in 1946 with A Stolen Life opposite Bette Davis, and had bit parts that year in The Big Sleep and Humoresque. She moved into comedy in 1948 and left Warner Bros. for freelance work, but her career stayed in smaller roles in B movies. Her final film was Istanbul in 1957 with Errol Flynn. On radio she played Lois Graves in Junior Miss, and on television she starred as April Adams in So This Is Hollywood in 1955 and guest starred on Perry Mason, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and Bat Masterson. She retired after a 1965 appearance on The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet.
