Plot summary
Max Rosenthal, Dumi Dorneanu, Răzvan Orodel and Iorgu Ristea are heroes of the wartime resistance, and in 1959 Bucharest they move through the city's high society. Max's marriage to Sonia is ending, and Alice Bercovich arrives from Moscow with Mirel, the son she and Max share. At Dumi's birthday the group trades memories of its revolutionary youth and, for fun, sketches a robbery of the National Bank of Romania. Max wants it carried out for real and wins over Dumi, Iorgu and Răzvan. Alice says no, since raising Mirel comes first, then joins when the boy asks to be the fifth member. Claiming to be a film crew, the gang goes through with the robbery.
