Plot summary
After they escape the Tweedy farm, Ginger and Rocky settle with the other chickens on an island in the middle of a lake, out of reach of humans. They raise a daughter, Molly, who grows into a curious and adventurous young chicken while her parents try to shield her from the outside world. When trucks and building work appear on the mainland, Ginger fears a new chicken farm is going up. Molly sneaks off to the mainland, where Frizzle, another young chicken, keeps her from being run over. The two hide aboard a truck carrying chickens to Fun-Land Farms, which at first looks appealing to them. Ginger and Rocky gather Babs, Bunty, Mac, and Fowler and give chase.

- None of the cast attended the film's premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival on 14 October 2023 because of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike; the film's characters walked the red carpet in their place.
