Plot summary
Thomas Kresk is a barber who is not good at his job, has no place to live and has been left by his wife for their marriage counselor. Depressed, he thinks about ending his own life. The thief Avnet has stolen three priceless coins and means to blackmail Bollingsworth, a billionaire and his partner in crime. Kresk overhears Avnet and is nearly shot. He decides to steal the coins for himself, and he hires a hit man, Mikey, who he finds is only seventeen and still troubled by his parents' suicide. Sergeant Meredith Kolko, the detective investigating the theft, pursues the case, and Kresk falls in love with her.
