Plot summary
At the bathroom ceramics works of W.C. Boggs and Son, owner W.C. Boggs struggles to keep the business going. Union representative Vic Spanner stirs up trouble among the men and calls a strike at the slightest excuse, while foreman Sid Plummer keeps the place running amid the unrest. Product designer Charles Coote has added a bidet to his latest range, but W.C. objects to making anything so dubious, even after his son Lewis brings in a large overseas order that could save the struggling firm. Myrtle, Sid's daughter and a canteen worker, is torn between Lewis and Vic. At home, Sid's wife Beattie fusses over her budgie Joey, who refuses to talk.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Carry on at Your Convenience (1971)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- As the 22nd of 31 Carry On films, this was the series' first box office failure, a result blamed on its satire of trade unionism, which reportedly alienated the working-class audience the films depended on; it did not earn back its production costs until 1976, after overseas and TV sales.
- Sid James’s screen persona was toned down here after his character was criticized for leering at some girls in Carry On Henry (1971); he plays a put-upon family man instead, though his girl-chasing persona was fully reinstated for subsequent films.
