Harry Towb

Harry Towb was an actor from Northern Ireland who started out on stage with a touring theater company in Ireland before moving into repertory theater in England. His first London appearance came in 1950 in The Gentle Gunman. He later worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and in 1979 he joined the Royal National Theatre, where his first part was Charley in Death of a Salesman. On television he was a cast member of The Army Game, ITV's first comedy, and appeared in series such as Doctor Who, The Avengers and The Saint. His films included Above Us the Waves (1955), The Blue Max (1966) and Patton. He also appeared in musicals, among them the 1983 London production of Little Shop of Horrors and a 1989 revival of Anything Goes. He died in 2009.
